IMCA Modified Nationals at the 5 State Fair
August 2-3-4

The first 3 nights of the 5 State Fair Sunday, Monday, Tuesday August 2nd, 3rd, and 4th will feature the BST IMCA Modified Series Races in addition to other classes which include Winged Sprint Cars, IMCA Stock Cars, Factory Stocks, and NAPA Thunder Cars.

Local drivers like Cody Gearhart, James Armstrong, Jim Graves, and John Schwab will be fending off attacks from some of top drivers in the mid-west. "Cody is one of the winningst drivers to ever come out of Liberal area and he is a threat no matter where he goes, and this is his home track so watch him go to the front," said Ed Beckley from Checkered Flag Productions this years racing promoter.

Sprint Car drivers who are from the local area are Taylor Valesquez, Ty Williams, Jason Martin, and Taylor Milton, Everyone of those drivers have won main events in the last year at tracks all over the Midwest. "The 5 State Fair has always been a Sprint Car Speedweeks and this year it is even more a factor because Liberal has it's own track Championship,"said Beckley. This year the Sprint Car pay-off pays 500 to win and 400 for second, last year it payed only $400 dollars to win so this extra 500 dollars should make the drivers go even harder!

Factory Stocks versus the IMCA Stock Cars pits the Beaver, Oklahoma and Hugton race track cars against the best of Liberal and Dodge City race tracks. "The class structure is close so we run them together and it is a whale of a show!," said Beckley.

There is always a great race on the 3/8 mile oval dirt track and the three nights of Championship racing and the duel of race track heroes is going to make for some exciting competition. Gates open at 5 each night Hot Laps at 6 and Races at 7:30pm each night.
